Artistic residency and exhibition project Nour Justinia Hotel, Sousse, Tunisia.

Project leader: Elbirou Art Gallery

Curators: Abir Boukhari & Karim Sghaier

—————– This project invited 24 artists to occupy 24 rooms on several floors during the renovation of the Nour Justinia hotel in Sousse. The hotel accommodates artists in renovated rooms, while rooms under construction are transformed into ephemeral studios... Sea view rooms will thus receive a new type of tenant, not tourists but artists from various backgrounds, Tunisian and international, emerging and established, who will mark their visits to these rooms with new creations. UV – FULLY BOOKED, reappropriated a hotel that became “fully booked” even though it is partly under construction, not to fill a void but as a demonstration of the inherent relationship of art with the phases of transformation often conducive to creation.
