The term “ex-voto” refers to paintings, figurines and objects donated to various deities as a thank you for a request that has been granted. It is an
artistic-religious manifestation that directly binds religious art and folk art. The motivations for the votive gifts are many—protection against natural
disasters, curing diseases, recovery from amorous sufferings, accidents and financial difficulties.

Based on the formal structure of the ex-voto and their accumulation in display, “From the vow made”, is a series of 20 to 40 wood cuts made
from illustrations of “how to put bandages” from first aid manuals. This installation uses woodcut boards or breadboards, where the objects become
a platform to reflect on the traces of our mundane and fragile existence.
